Liposuction is a way of “body sculpture” to help create an attractive body contour. Subcutaneous fat aspiration is recommended on the areas of the body, where the excess subcutaneous fat deforms the body contour. The quantity of sucked fat is low (ranging from 200 to 2000 ml), but this is sufficient to correct the shape. Most fat is sucked from the chin, neck, upper arm, abdomen, buttocks, and lateral areas of the thighs. Fat suction result is better if the patient’s skin is elastic and firm.
Operation
Agli liposuction may be performed using local or general anaesthesia. Using local anaesthesia, fat is sucked only in small areas.
Curettes are used for fat suction. They are hollow stainless steel tubes of a variety of shapes and sizes with one or more suction openings. They are joined with a special pump, which creates negative 0.6 to 1.0 atmospheric pressure. Fat is sucked after making small incisions, about 1 cm.
